A rich history dating back to 1933

The Hart House Chorus had its roots as the Hart House Glee Club, a men's choir formed under the leadership of Allan Sly in 1933. The Glee Club had their first performance on February 8, 1934 - the first of many over the next forty years. Due to World War II, the group suspended activities between 1943 and 1945. The Glee Club had five subsequent conductors before being disbanded in 1972. That fall, the Glee Club was resurrected in its current, co-ed form - the Hart House Chorus.
